ANY COOK BOOK SUGGESTIONS FOR A BEGINNER IN COOKING?

I’m the brand new mother as well as right away the stay during home mother too. we wish to be means to prepare dishes for my family which aren’t from the box or solidified or anything similar to that, though we do not wish to get impressed during initial either. So distant the usually recipes I’ve found engage mixture I’ve never even listened of! So I’d unequivocally similar to the little prepare book (or even only recipes we know) suggestions for the amateur in cooking. Thanks!

You should pick up a standard Betty Crocker or Better Homes cookbook. They both are 2-3 inches thick, and have lots of additional information, like measuring, substitutions, detailed instructions, and lots of photos. The Better Homes one is now in a binder so you can take the pages out to use. Mine now falls open itself to the fried chicken page. LOL

Taste of Home has a great cookbook that has recipes, measurements, techniques, and all sorts of helpful information for someone who is new to cooking or for someone with more experience. The checkered Betty Crocker cookbook is also very good. Go to a bookstore and flip through books, find some with lots of pictures and recipes that don’t seem too involved.

There are many ways to learn how to cook the best thing to do is watch foodnetwork it is a great source for cooks, chefs, anyone who wants to learn hoe to cook and has a passion for food. You could alson download cookbooks from the internet or buy books in borders or barnes and nobels. There are also many DVDs that help you learn how to cook. Good luck

I love the Betty Crocker cookbook. It has simple, easy, time-tested recipes for pretty much everything. Granted, some of the “ethnic fare” may be less than authentic and a little on the bland side, but its perfect for all the good ol’ stand-bys. Great recipes for cakes and desserts and has a lot of basic info about cooking meats like timetables and temperatures. It comes in a binder too, so you can take pages out if you want.

Well if you want some to start making meals as soon as possible I would suggest buying an online cookbook I’ve bought a few already and I the meals are to die for.

I found one of the cookbooks here:

Taste of Home is a good one. It has down to earth recipes with ingredients that you usually have at home. They also have monthly magazines that focus on casseroles, desserts, etc. I have boxes of their magazines that I refer to still.

    Hello,

I would suggest you search the net as there are lots and lots of free cooking books on the internet. Some are excellent and some are not that good, but try some and choose the one that suits you best.

Just go to Yahoo or Google and you will see there are plenty. I also left a link to the source I use, just in case you are interested.
