Well, if I am not mistaken, they do have a “Vegetarian for Dummies” cookbook and other beginners guide to the world of vegetarianism and vegan-ism.
In book stores like Borders and Barnes and Noble, they have a nice sized vegetarian/vegan area.
But remember, the foods are expensive. So, look around, buy in bulk and don’t be afraid to ask around other people who are vegetarians and maybe someone who works at the bookstore who may know someone or books or may be one, themselves.
    Good luck.

I just bought a few books. I got “Vegetarian Cooking” and “The Starving Students Vegetarian Cookbook.” I found the first one in the bargain books section of my local Borders for under $5 and the other in the Vegetarian section. The starving student one had a lot of easy recipes that sound tasty. Peta also has a vegan cookbook with easy recipes that can all be done in the microwave. Talk to other vegetarians you know and google easy vegetarian/vegan recipes.

The Vegetarian Epicure by Anna Thomas is a classic. Lots of soups and great ways to cook veggies. Also, I recommend The Art of Vegetarian Cookery by Betty Wason, but it’s a little hard to find nowadays.

Good idea to check with your doctor before going veg. You need to be careful to get B vitamins, maybe by taking supplements, maybe by using brewer’s yeast in your diet. But best of luck to you — it’s a wonderful decision you’ve made!
